IKEA Alex 6 Draw Makeup Dividers.

Recently my boyfriend and i created some custom makeup storage/dividers for my beauty room. I was getting quite frustrated with spending endless amounts on acrylic containers to keep my makeup stored neatly so i figured it was time to find another way. These are for my IKEA Alex 6 draw set, but could be easily be adapted for any situation. I'm so happy with the result and surprised with just how easy and inexpensive it was to make so i just had to get on here and share!

What you'll need:

(These made two drawers)

Drawers
Tape (I used electrical so it was gentle on the painted surface)
Wood strips i found 40x12mm 3.0 was the best for the depth of these draws, from memory these were around $5 each and we used about 2 and a half. (Similar)
Liquid nails, around $5 (Here)
Fluted dowels (optional), around $5 (Here)
White paint (optional)
1 handy boyfriend (also optional)

Step One:

Plan your layout, lay down tape were you want the dividers to go.

Step Two:

Measure the length of the drawer and cut two pieces to size, this helps the structure of your dividers and also makes them one piece to easily remove. Also do the same for your middle piece, if you have one.

Step Three:

Now measure and cut your other pieces and place together to check everything is right.

Step Four:

Drill out two holes in each attachment point for the dowels. Then add your liquid nails and secure together. Use a clamp to hold secure while you wait for the glue to dry.
